Yemen Integrated Urban Services Emergency Project YIUSEP

The development objective of the Integrated Urban Services Emergency Project for Yemen is to restore access to critical urban services in selected cities within the Republic of Yemen. Financed by the World Bank (IDA grant of US 150 million dollars), the Integrated Urban Services Emergency Project is being carried out by United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) as the implementing agency, with implementation support by local implementing partners and the World Bank. The project will finance activities that support the restoration of critical urban services in selected Yemeni cities. The restoration of urban services, including water and sanitation, transport, energy and solid waste management, will be critical to improve health outcomes, basic living conditions and local economic activity. The project adopts an integrated approach to urban service delivery that provides coordinated, multi‐sectoral support to Yemen during the conflict.
